Newton C. "Cookie" Boykin was born in Camden, South Carolina in 1953. He came to Edisto every year since then until he made Edisto his permanent residence in 1978. His grandparents, parents, and relatives have all been coming here since the early twenties. He spent many years in the woods and waters first as shrimper on the "Sea Prowler" and then as a game warden in 1983. A licensed boat captain and an avid hunter and fisherman, he loves to call...
